Virginia Rounds, Director of the ICATT Apprenticeship Program, will moderate a panel discussion about workforce issues at the first Indiana-Germany Business Conference on April 11.

Hosted by the Indianapolis-Cologne Sister City Partnership Committee and Wunderbar Together, the conference will take place at the Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites, and connect business and government leaders. With more than 120 German companies located in Indiana and even more Indiana companies exporting to Germany, the state already enjoys a rich bilateral business relationship with Germany.

The Indiana-Germany Business Conference aims to strengthen and grow this relationship. The goals of the conference are to:

  1. Help Indiana companies learn more about the German market to spur additional exports and trade
  2. Attract further investment from German companies; and
  3. Cultivate and adopt workforce training programs (such as German-style apprenticeships) to develop a stronger workforce in Indiana

At the conference, Rounds will lead a discussion with other industry leaders on the topic, Workforce & Skills Initiatives.

Robert Head, Apprentice Program Manager at ICATT Network Company Endress+Hauser, and Sue Smith of participating ICATT Network College Ivy Tech will join Blair Milo Secretary of Career Connections and Talent for the State of Indiana as participants in the discussion.
