2025 marks another exciting chapter of our workshop series “Next-Level Apprenticeships – Transatlantic Exchange on Training Programs,” our initiative exploring how the German apprenticeship model can serve as a sustainable solution to workforce challenges. Building on a successful 2024 series, we published a brochure highlighting best practices shared by industry experts, educators, and policymakers who participated in this year’s sessions.
Within the framework of the European Recovery Program, the GACC Apprenticeship Networks continued to convene virtual workshops connecting educators, workforce developers, and government representatives. Together, they examined effective strategies for implementing high-quality apprenticeship programs—addressing topics such as recruitment and succession planning, trainer development, on-the-job training integration, and quality assurance.
Many speakers and participants are members of the ICATT and MAT2 Networks, while others are preparing to join GACC Midwest’s apprenticeship programs. These collaborations underscore the strength of professional networks and the shared commitment to advancing modern workforce training.
In 2025, the “Next-Level Apprenticeships” series returned with a new focus on Industrial Electronics Technician apprenticeship programs and Industry 4.0. Like in previous years, the program culminated in a study trip to Germany, offering participants an opportunity to experience transatlantic best practices firsthand.
